If You Get a Stroke, Get Help Fast! January 27, 2012

If you develop symptoms that suggest you may have had a stroke, get medical help immediately. Rapid evaluation and treatment are essential if an attempt is to be made to limit the extent of damage to the affected area of the brain. You’ll probably need to be admitted briefly to a local Hospital. To assess your condition fully, your physician will probably require a CT or computer tomography scan of the brain and continuous monitoring of your heart rhythm by electrocardiogram or EKG. Other tests your physician they want you to have special x-rays of the cerebral arteries called arteriograms. He may also put you through a battery of memory loss tests.
